Click, flame, ablaze
Set me on fire with that name and that face

Flick, drag, exhale
Far beneath the sea, mating calls of a whale

Six, seven, sonnets
Stealing kisses underneath my bonnet

Sneak, tip toe, creep
Don’t wake the empress, let her sleep

Whiskey, cola, ice
You couldn’t fight it, hot waters must rise

Verses, bridge, refrain
Sink it in and wash it away with the rain

Relapse, repent, repeat
Memory of you and me, fly away into orbit

“We’re here, Captain.”

Disembarking their spaceship, the Captain gazes at the strange vistas — miles upon miles. In his yesteryears, it was all he had ever dreamed of.

Now, staring at the uncharted terrains, he can see what a whippersnapper he was.

“Tomorrow, we strike.” His voice, a quagmire of doubt.
